Journal Entry # 1 [Video/Action]
[Anyone who walks by or happens to be watching the network feed will see a frustrated kid siting on the grass and flipping through an old, battered journal.]
There isn't anything in this book about 'Pokémon'! Or how a sheep can produce electricity! That mom lady must have been a shape-shifter who didn't look anything like my mom... and that professor makes McGucket look sane...
[The gear moves towards the boy before it's tossed to the ground. Unfortunately, it lands face down, obscuring whatever threw it and the boy.]
Hey! Don't break that. We might need it later.

Okay, so...Pokemon evolution? Has nothing to do with natural generational evolution. When they 'evolve', it's because you love them a lot, or give them a special magic rock, or have them battle a certain other Pokemon, or reach a certain level of power. Then they immediately turn into a whole new Pokemon.

Jut like a human who lives in a cave is evolutionary different from a human who lives on the coast. It comes down to genetics, too.

Climate and natural resources and selection mean animals that are suited to survive do, and pass their traits on to the next generation, making it stronger and more suitable.
It doesn't involve hugging a ferret and then there's a glow of light and a tinkly sound and the ferret instantly turns into a dragon. That is how Pokemon evolution works.

Just because you can call something by a name you know, that doesn't make it any less magical. Pokemon are pretty magical.
And this is coming from a mystically reincarnated super human who can make any element do what I want, so....

What.

You heard me.

So you're the Dali Lama?
Video
Okay, fair enough! You must come from a pretty science-y world, huh?
...sort of? I'm the Avatar. It's a lot like the Dali Lama, I guess, but with a lot more controlling elements and hanging out with actual spirits.
[She's heard that comparison before.]

Sure.
[This kid is now in awe!]
That sounds way cooler than blue alien cats!

Do you still have your powers?
[He wants to see them.]
