Journal Entry # 3 [Video]

[There's a Dipper on the screen who is trying not to look sad, and he's much more subdued than the past few videos. He seems to be on the outside of the Ruins of Alph. His Pokémon are seen trying to comfort a Xatu, who just.... is staring at the screen behind Dipper. Welcome to the party, Hitchcock.]

So my Grunkle Stan is gone. He wasn't there this morning when I woke up. I don't know if anyone will even miss him, but if you got any of his Pokémon... go ahead and keep them. I don't think I can take care of them all on my own. He left me with Misery.

[Which, for those who don't know the Persian, might sound like he's been left with literal misery.]

I'm gonna be at the Ruins of Alph for a while. If anyone wants to join me, let me know? Just going to explore it some more.

[The screen turns off. This boy needs some cheering up, or just a friend to come hang out with him.]

There's a Pokemon called Misery, zura?

Misery is a Persian... and she won't listen to anything else. She likes her name.

No, he was naming his Pokémon after horror books, movie directors, and writers. Misery is a Steven King Book. He left me with Hitchcock and Felicity, too. A director and another book.

[Komasan isn't listening, none of that makes any sense to him, his short attention span therefore goes somewhere else. It shows, too, he isn't even looking directly into the feed after Dipper finishes.]

Ah, I see, zura...

[No, he really doesn't. He's just saying that to be polite. But at the very least, after that's said and done, he's all smiles again.]

So are you really going to the ruins, zura?! I've been there before, they're super monge~! That's where I found Chairo, zura!

[He turns the feed over to a particularly dark corner of his room, where a rather large Claydol looms in the shadows. Her many red eyes glow ominously before Komasan puts the feed back onto himself.]

You should totally catch some of the Pokemon there, zura!

[No you don't. Dipper can tell.]

I've been to the ruins before! That's where I caught Vulcan.

[Wow, that is creepy. So he's just going to pan over to his Metagross so he doesn't have to look at that Claydoll.

Also, what is monge?]

[What do you mean? How can anyone not find Chairo absolutely delightful?]

M-MONGE!! That's such a huge Pokemon, zura!!

I know he looks big, but Hephaestus is taller.

[As if to prove it, a Typhlosion stands next to the Metagross. Definitely bigger. And darn proud of it.]

That's what I thought too, but some people don't, zura. It's...it's really weird, you'd think you'd wanna be nice to the exploding animals, zura...

[Exploding animals... he doesn't have one of those yet.]

People are mean to any of them. There's a guy who was really mean to a Mareep last week because it ate his dangmo.

Because they're ruins! Ruins are great! There's mysteries, legends, things no one's ever seen! Why wouldn't I want to go to the ruins? It's one of the best places to be other than a haunted house or Gravity Falls!
